Celebrating Community and Inclusion at Spring Square
Marking a significant leap forward in accessible living in Sydney’s Southwest, the Spring Square Open Day in Bankstown celebrated the completion of 10 brand new, premium designed, high physical support apartments.
These apartments are uniquely integrated into a mainstream residential building consisting of over 500 apartments. Nestled in the heart of Bankstown, Spring Square offers its residents not only beautiful, accessible homes but also the opportunity to live independently within an established and vibrant community.
We were honored to have the Mayor of Canterbury Bankstown, Clr Bilal El-Hayek, in attendance at the event. A vocal advocate for community and inclusivity, the Mayor spoke about the collaboration between AccessAccom and Afea Care Services, stating:
“Every person deserves to live with dignity, love, support, compassion, and what these two wonderful organisations are doing are bringing all that together.”
The partnership between Afea Care Services and AccessAccom is what sets this project apart. Afea provides personalised care services, supporting residents in their day-to-day lives, while AccessAccom focuses on creating homes that meet the highest standards of accessibility and comfort. Together, these two organisations are making a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities by providing both the physical space and the support they need to live independently.
The open day was an opportunity to reflect on the impact projects like Spring Square can have on individuals and their families. The day was a chance for everyone—existing residents, service providers and community members—to come together and share in this important milestone.
As Afea and AccessAccom continue to work together on projects like Spring Square, their focus remains on creating inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and support. The success of this development is a testament to what can be achieved when organisations with shared values come together to improve the lives of others.
